SACO, Maine (WMTW) - Two young children are safe and a mother is in custody following a statewide AMBER Alert Tuesday.

Officials say 8-year-old Aleeah Patrock and 6-year-old Vincent Patrock were taken by their mother, 27-year-old Alexandra Vincent, on Monday.

According to police, officers with Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services went to the home to remove the children when they learned Alexandra Vincent had left with the children.

Her intent was to leave the state of Maine, a release stated. An arrest warrant was then issued Tuesday for criminal restraint by a parent against Alexandra Vincent.

After learning of the AMBER Alert, Alexandra Vincent called the Saco Police Department who instructed her to go to the nearest station to turn herself in.

Authorities say she arrived to the Woburn Police Department in Massachusetts Tuesday afternoon and was taken inside with her children.

This story will be updated with the latest information as it becomes available.
